Not gaining weight when traveling can seem like a difficult task when you're not at home and not cooking yourself. Here are 4 tips for not putting on weight when you travel.
1. Drink a lot of water
Even when you are on a plane, drink as soon as you have passed customs checks, drink water. It's a beginning. When the flight attendants provide service, do not hesitate to ask for an additional glass of water.
During the flight, get up regularly to drink water. In fact, it is recommended to hydrate yourself when traveling by plane to avoid having a dry mouth, as the pressurized air is very dry. Once you reach your destination, continue to drink water. Try to eat foods rich in water such as lettuce, watermelon or cucumbers.
2. Don't throw yourself on food and stick to your habits
This is particularly important when you have particularly full buffets in front of you. Just because you've paid doesn't mean you have to overdo it! If breakfast is included in your room reservation? Take an omelet, one or two toast (without a ton of butter or jam) or some fresh fruit.
Avoid pastries, muffins, sausages or even bacon if you don't usually eat them at home. Remember that in a few hours you will have another meal: don't be gluttonous! Use in moderation. While this is tempting, you don't have to eat it all in one meal. For example, try to impose rules on yourself. Only one food with a little more calories per meal.
3. Try to stay active
If there is a gym at your vacation spot, go for it! If the hotel offers sports activities, register for the sessions. You can also go hiking to explore the surroundings of your vacation spot.
4. Be firm about your resolve not to gain weight
Holidays don't mean eating without limits, but resting well, enjoying the scenery and spending time with your family.
Remember that it is easier to gain weight than to lose weight especially after a certain age.
